It's table tennis all the way! Football would only be a distraction for Ryan who is destined to be a top player on the National scene going forward.
National Junior League day 1 took place at Halton Table Tennis Centre on Saturday 14 October 2017. Stockport Table Tennis Academy (STTA) had a brilliant start to their campaign for the junior division one competition.
After under achieving in the last two seasons when looking like hot favorites all the way, Stockport is off to a storming start. Stockport’s team of Ryan Choong, Ahab Isaac and sister of Ryan Sandy Choong were strong competitors all day long.
The table tennis in the first division was of the very highest caliber, phenomenal rallies, fierce attacking shots and defensive recovery shots. Shot of the day came form 12 year old Sandy who was giving away to some opposition players 5/6 years in age! Sandy collided with a side ball stop barrier while making a retrieval shot, fell onto the floor, quickly got up to her feet to win this point it was “pure gritty magic”.
