The award is very special in that it is voted for at the leagues AGM which was held on Wednesday 1 June 2016, it's for the most promising junior player for the season. The Manchester league chairman Mr Phillip Gould-Bourn re-presented the trophy to William during the weekly Sunday training session at Cheadle College.
"William has worked hard to achieve good results this season. The feature of his play is his consistent heavy topspin forehand that his opponents find too hot to handle. Fourteen year old William has three seasons left as a junior player, his current England ranking stands at number 80 which could be improved with hard work, practice and dedication” says academy head coach David Hulme.
With William leading the team for next season Manchester juniors will be challenging for the top slot in the premier division.
STTA is open to youngsters both girls and boys that want to play and get involved in the World’s largest racket sport; table tennis. So why not give it a go and give your children a break from those computer games! Beginners welcome.
