William Gregson makes English Nationals

William Gregson qualifies for English National Table Tennis Championships; will represent the best of the North West Region.
Stockport Table Tennis Academy junior, William Gregson, has qualified for the English National Championships in the under 12s age band, the third time that Gregson has reached the top level in the sport.

The English National Championships takes place over the weekend of 6-7 June in Sheffield, with the country's top table tennis girls and boys, competing in under 11s, 12s, 13s and 14s.
David Hulme, head coach, Stockport Table Tennis Academy, said: "It's a tremendous achievement to represent the North West region. William's achievement is the culmination of many years' dedication, training hard. For someone so young, William has gained a vast amount of match experience from playing in several leagues. We wish him well for the National Championships."
William Gregson started playing table tennis aged 8 and is one of the region's top young players. He trains at Stockport Table Tennis Academy and plays for Stockport in the National Cadet and Junior Leagues, the Manchester League, gaining promotion to the first division for the 2015-16 season and the Lancashire and Cheshire Junior League.
The qualifiers took place last weekend with William Gregson qualifiing in the under 12s age group. Gregson will be joined by fellow qualifiers from the region, including James Courtney and Alexander Flint from Warrington Table Tennis Club, which Gregson's Stockport team is competing with for the North West Cadet League title which reaches its climax later this month on 26 April.
